Build
4 oz red wine, (12 cl, 1 gills)
1 dash aromatic bitters,
1 tsp sugar, (4 dashes)
1 lemon twist, (1/2 oz, 1.5 cl, 1/8 gills)
1 pinch allspice, (1/2 oz, 1.5 cl, 1/8 gills)
1 cinnamon stick (1/2 oz, 1.5 cl, 1/8 gills)
3 cloves (1 1/2 oz, 4.5 cl, 3/8 gills)
Heat but do not boil,
Note: Variations include the addition of a liquor & spices of choice.
Traditionally, the mixture is heated by dipping a red hot iron poker into
it.
Serve in a mug (12.0 oz)
